Yelba Zoe McCourt continues to captivate audiences with her latest project - a compelling one-person play titled, “WHERE Y’ALL FROM?” 

Yelba Zoe drew inspiration for this powerful narrative, from her own deeply personal and thought-provoking lifelong journey. 

In this 75-minute solo performance, Yelba Zoe masterfully embodies various characters she encounters throughout her life—starting from childhood and into adulthood—each asking her the same question: “Where are you from?”

As a child immigrant and the daughter of two Latine immigrants, Yelba Zoe navigates the complexities of assimilation and what it truly means to be American. 

From her childhood dreams inspired by “Sesame Street” to the harsh reality of brown children in cages at the border, Yelba Zoe's play delves into themes of identity, race, and the American Dream. She grapples with questions like whether identity ends at the border and whether she is more Latina or Americana.

Having been featured as a staged reading at the Joshua Tree Solo Festival 2023, Yelba Zoe McCourt’s recently fully produced performance at SOLOFEST 2024 continues to resonate with audiences.
